Yes! All regular classes and lessons include materials, with the exception of digital art classes which require your student to have an iPad or lap-top computer. If a student in individual private lessons would like to explore a new medium not taught, additional charges for new supplies may apply.

Media includes: Pencil, Pen & Ink, Colored Pencil, Watercolor, Acrylic/Tempera, Marker, Clay, Cut Paper, Charcoal, Pastel, Oil Pastel and more!

How far in advance should I schedule my lessons?
As soon as possible and at least 24 hours in advance of your desired date/time. Classes fill-up fast, so make your selections quickly! Due to the nature of our project plans, we cannot accept Drop-ins on the day of a class.

How many Trial Lessons (Try a Class) can I sign-up for?
Trial Lessons are designed to try out a Splott Studio class. These are available one-time, for New Students ONLY.

Do I drop my child off or stick around?
You may drop your child off at the studio. There are many shops and restaurants close by in First & Main and on Main Street in Downtown Hudson. Plus, Panera is right around the building!

How does my child keep up on their skills outside of class?
We encourage each student to keep a sketchbook outside of class. This is THE best way to keep the creative energy high! Another fun way to polish skills outside of class is to make art on their own! Use the knowledge you've gained from class create your own pieces at home!

What's the difference between a session and a subscription?
A session is a 4 class block, occurring as a new session each month. A subscription is a way to guarantee a seat for each class session. Monthly subscriptions are also discounted and require a minimum 12-week commitment. After 12 weeks, subscriptions may be cancelled with a valid 2-week notice prior to the end of the currently enrolled session.

What happens if I miss a class?
If you need to miss a class you are scheduled for, please notify us AT LEAST 48 hours in advance so we may provide the open spot to a student on the waitlist. Failure to do so results in forfeiture of that class purchase entirely. If you notify us within the allotted time-frame, you will be able to re-schedule your missed class for another day. Dates and times are TBD on a first come, first-served basis.

What happens if there are not enough students registered for my class time?
Each class has a minimum number of students necessary to hold a time slot. If the class participation minimum is not met, the class is subject to cancellation at the instructor's discretion. We will notify you as soon as possible and provide an alternative, if possible.

Where are Splott Studio classes held?
Splott Studio classes are held inside Splott Graphics located at 118 W. Streetsboro St., Unit #31, Hudson. Refer to this map for more complete directions.

What should I wear to my class?
Please wear comfortable clothing to class. Some days might be messier than others (paint, clay, etc.), so please anticipate this and opt for pants and a t-shirt rather than your Sunday Best!

Should I bring anything to class?
Please bring a water bottle to class. If you are working in a sketchbook and you would like to bring that for inspiration, please do so! We ask that you DO NOT bring toys, hand-held gaming units, outside art supplies, or any other items that may be a distraction for the class. If you have a phone, please make sure it remains in a purse/backpack or pocket and it is silenced out of courtesy for your other classmates.

Can I bring food to class?
Since many of our classes are after school or around dinnertime, students may bring a small, NUT FREE snack to class. Appropriate snacks include goldfish, pretzels, granola bars, or anything that is relatively mess-free.

What is your COVID19 Mask Policy?
In accordance with local health guidelines, as of February 14, 2022, masks inside the studio are optional and at the discretion of each individual/parent. We want to continue to maintain a safe and healthy environment for everyone and will adjust this policy as needed.
